Aam Aadmi Party also known as Common Man’s Party was launched on 26 November 2012, and is currently the ruling party of our National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Back in April 2011, a civil society movement took place in the backdrop of big-ticket corruption scandals that came to light during the time of the Congress-led UPA regime. A group of activists from different backgrounds had come close together to demand the enactment of the Jan Lokpal Bill – a legislation that had been stuck in Parliamentary committees for decades.
After winning a landslide majority in the 2015 Delhi elections, the AAP government has taken on some powerful individuals and corporations to secure the rights of the people and in the process vanquished several mafias running Delhi – water tanker mafia, contractor mafia, power company mafia, and much more.
